2009
We were not planning on adding any additional features in the 2009 August to December time frame. But, we had a lot of fun developing the LFO modulation of harmonics (our morse code patch sounds just like - well - morse code). So we did release version 2.4.2 in October. Now, we might break our own rule again but for now, we've decided to hold off on new feature development to allow all HAWK-800 owners time to get acquainted with the new features and also to allow time to handle any bugs that are sure to be present in software version 2.4.2.
2010
We plan to begin the hard work of developing and implementing new sequencer functions as well as an arpeggiator. We'll be assessing the viability of the arpeggiator in the first few months of 2010. We've already received a lot of input from customers who have provided us with many great ideas for the sequencer/arpeggiator idea. Don't hesitate to email us with your ideas about an arpeggiator for the Poly-800. We're always keen to hear what musicians would like to see in the HAWK-800 product.
Help wanted!
Many of our customers have developed templates for the many different composition and sound editing tools and librarians that are on the market. We encourage all HAWK-800 customers to send details of their configurations to us so that we can post them on this website so that we can make the HAWK-800 kit one of the best and most widely supported upgrades there is. So please send in your templates, your editor configurations and also your sysex patch dumps! We will give you credit on these pages for any material you send to us.
IMPORTANT NOTE - MIDI Development
There are a few important changes that will be made to the MIDI system exclusive implementation that should be expected in the future. Specifically, HAWK-800 system exclusive acknowledgment messages will be implemented that are different to those that currently exist. If you are developing templates or other software that utilize system exclusive messages then you should contact us to discuss the changes that we're going to implement. The changes will simplify programming the HAWK-800. So we encourage you to contact us for details.
Features and bug fixes may be held off and or release schedules changed without notice depending upon resources.
