HAWK-800 Construction and Installation Guides

Below are the construction and installation instructions for the HAWK-800MK2, HAWK-800P and HAWK-800EX kits. Please ensure that you download and use the correct construction and installation instructions for your kit. If you purchased your kit prior to December 2009 then contact us to provide you with instructions on the best way to proceed BEFORE you begin constructing your kit. If you are unsure of which set of instructions to use then email korgpolyex800@yahoo.com for assistance.

**NEW** - Support Files for Software Version 2.4.x

Below is the zip file that contains the latest files needed to flash upgrade the HAWK-800 to software version 2.4.3. This version of the software adds patch bulk dump send and receive functions. The zip file also contains the updated owners manual, MIDI implementation chart and parameter quick reference guide. Also included are two system exclusive patch dump files that contain the EX-800 and MK2 default patch sets.

Version-2.4.3.zip

Below is a zip file that contains the previous version 2.4.2 software.

Version-2.4.2.zip

Below is a zip file that contains the early version 1.8 software. This software is provided in order to provide compatibility with the versions of the HAWK-800 kit that used static RAM for patch storage. If your kit has not been upgraded to use flash memory for patch storage then it must use version 1.8 and we strongly suggest that you upgrade the kit to use flash memory for patch storage. See below for upgrade details.

Version-1.8.zip

Download System Exclusive Files

Use the System exclusive file below to set the global parameter defaults for a Poly-800. This is useful for getting your Poly 800 into the correct starting mode after you initially install the HAWK-800 kit.

Poly-Global-Defaults.syx

Use the system exclusive file below to set the global parameter defaults for an EX-800. This is useful for getting your EX-800 into the correct starting mode after you initially install the HAWK-800 kit.

EX-800-Global-Defaults.syx

The System exclusive file below is a single patch (11) that demonstrates velocity sensitivity.

StringSensitive.syx

If you own a Novation Midi Controller then the template below could be useful for controlling your HAWK-800. The template was developed for the Novation Remote SL25 and is not completely finished but makes for a good starting point (we'll finish the template and post it here soon).

Upgrading Early Versions of HAWK-800P/HAWK-800EX Kits

Early versions of the HAWK-800P and HAWK-800EX kits cannot use software version 2.0 or higher unless they have one of the static RAM chips replaced with a flash memory chip.

BOOT ROM Binary File
The file below is the latest (Version 1.5) boot ROM binary file. Use this binary file to upgrade your existing boot EPROM (or EEROM) to the latest version of the boot software. You will need a suitable programming device to use this file. The file has been named as a txt file but is in fact binary. Rename it as boot.bin after download. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
